Toms River Business Administrator On Medical Leave: Mayor
Lou Amoruso, the assistant business administrator, will serve in the lead role while Donald Guardian recuperates, Mayor Maurice Hill said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River Business Administrator Donald Guardian is on medical leave following a medical episode that happened two weeks ago, Toms River Mayor Maurice B. Hill confirmed Wednesday.
Guardian, who became business administrator in January 2018, suffered the episode at the end of the June 9 Toms River Township Council meeting, Hill said. Councilman Kevin Geoghegan and Councilman Joshua Kopp, both of whom volunteer with the Silverton First Aid Squad, were in the building and went to Guardian's aid, he said.
Hill did not provide details of what happened due to medical privacy laws, but said Guardian is on medical leave for an unspecified length of time.
