Toms River Farmers Market Opens Wednesday
The market resumes Wednsesday with its offerings of fresh produce, baked goods and more.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Fans of the Downtown Toms River farmers' market will have get used to a new location to pick up fresh produce and baked goods in 2017.
The market this year will be on the lawn at the Ocean County Parking Garage on Hadley Avenue, officials said.
The farmers market is set to resume its every-Wednesday appearances on May 24, and will operate from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 24 through Oct. 25. The market will be available Nov. 1, Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and just in time for Thanksgiving, on Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to fresh produce and baked goods, there will be vendors selling nuts and candies, herbs and spices, honey and beeswax products, plants, specialty soap, pickles and olives and there will be a smoothie truck and a coffee vendor.
The Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District said the first Wednesday of every month also will highlight what's in season:

- June 7: Strawberries and lettuce
- July 5: Blueberries and zucchini
- Aug. 2: Peaches and tomatoes
- Sept. 6: Plums and eggplants
- Oct. 4: Apples and pumpkins
- Nov. 1: Cranberries and sweet potatoes
