Toms River Food Distribution Ongoing For Families In Need
The Ocean County YMCA and Toms River, through their partnerships with Fufill, and Operation BBQ Relief, all will distribute food this week.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River families who are continuing to struggle to make ends meet can get food assistance Thursday and Friday.
There are distributions from the Ocean County YMCA, the Toms River Township-Toms River schools effort and Operation BBQ Rescue.
On Thursday, the Ocean County YMCA will continue its crisis relief food box distribution, through its partnership with Fulfill. Registration is required, with one box per family. The distribution is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. You can register here for the YMCA distribution.

On Friday, Toms River will again distribute crisis food kits at four Toms River Regional elementary schools and in Ortley Beach. No registration is required.
Food kits will be distributed from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following sites:

- East Dover Elementary School, 725 Vaughn Ave., Toms River
- Joseph A. Citta Elementary School, 2050 Lakewood Road, Toms River
- Walnut Street Elementary School, 60 Walnut St., Toms River
- South Toms River Elementary School, 419 Dover Road, Toms River
- Third Avenue Parking Lot, Ortley Beach
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Operation BBQ Relief and DRJ Catering will serve individual takeout barbecue meals to residents in need in parking lot of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
The food distribution will be performed drive-through style. Families should remain in their vehicle at all times. Please keep your windows closed and pop the trunk and we will deliver the food to the trunk or truck bed.
