Toms River Halloween Parade Officials Watching Weather
With the potential for thunderstorms on Thursday, Toms River Fire Company 1 officials have a plan if they need to postpone.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The threat of thunderstorms has Toms River officials keeping a wary eye on the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
While trick-or-treating will go forward on Wednesday, the annual Halloween parade could be postponed, officials said.
The Halloween parade, run by Toms River Fire Company 1, is still scheduled for Thursday but could be moved to Friday if the weather is bad enough.

Fire company officials said a decision on the parade will be made Halloween morning.
"If the parade is postponed, the parade will be on Friday," officials said by email Tuesday. "We do understand all the high schools will be playing football Friday night."

The alternative: canceling altogether, which could happen if the weather does not cooperate Friday, officials said.
"If Mother Nature doesn't work well with us on Friday, there unfortunately won't be a parade this year," officials said.
