Toms River Library presents Human Trafficking: A Survivor's Story

An eye-opening and inspiring program as a Trafficked Survivor speaks out and shares her story in Toms River Thurs., November 21st @ 6:30 pm.

New Jersey is considered particularly vulnerable to the proliferation of human trafficking due to its dense population and location along the I-95 corridor. Human Trafficking is raw, real and a form of modern day slavery. Traffickers use force, fraud or coercion on victims for the purpose of either sexual exploitation or labor. It is important to raise awareness about this issue and the public to be knowledgeable of the role they can play in helping those affected.

Please join us at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library on Thursday, November 21 at 6:30 pm for a community free program, Human Trafficking: A Survivor's Story. Gina Cavallo, a leading spokesman and survivor consultant with the New Jersey Coalition against Human Trafficking and founder of the Paying It Forward Foundation will share her story as a trafficked survivor. Born and raised in New Jersey, Gina left at 18 to escape a life of bullying and abuse to start anew, instead finding herself tricked and trapped into sex trafficking for several years.
Today, Gina engages with legislators and testified in the New Jersey State House advocating change in public policy as one of the first survivor leaders to address sex trafficking and exploitation.
A beacon of hope for survivors empowering those who often feel invisible, her testimony of resilience inspire many.

**This is a free program and registration is required. Professional Development Hours offered.
**Co-sponsored by the Ocean County Department of Human Services.
