Man Suing Springsteen Over Use Of Dad's Car Facing $500K Fraud Claim From Ex-Employer
Louis M. Billotti of Toms River is accused in a lawsuit of stealing from and defrauding his former employer, an Ocean County company.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man who is suing Bruce Springsteen over the use of his late father's classic car in promotional materials is the target of a lawsuit by an Ocean County company that claims he committed more than $500,000 in fraud.
Louis A. Billotti and his wife, Morgan Billotti, have been sued by Leed Supply LLC of Toms River, which alleges the couple stole cash, sold the company's inventory privately and pocketed the funds, and manipulated the company's records to cover their actions.
Leed Supply sells masonry products and hardscaping for landscaping. Morgan Billotti was the sales/store supervisor and reported to Louis Billotti, who was the store manager, according to the lawsuit, filed Nov. 28, 2022. They were not married at the time they worked together but were living together, according to a Dec. 11, 2023, filing in the case.

The Leed lawsuit alleges the two would be deliberately uncooperative and cause large orders they could not steal from to get canceled, costing the company hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The company accuses the two of resisting any efforts to organize delivery records, supply records and the yard where supplies were kept so they could hide their deception, according to the lawsuit.

The two, who were hired by Leed when the company was owned by another entity, continued to work for the company after it was sold to its current owners in 2021. They were fired Aug. 29, 2022, and the lawsuit alleges they began badmouthing the company to further damage its reputation.
In a response to the Leed lawsuit, Louis and Morgan Billotti deny the claims of wrongdoing and filed a counterclaim alleging they are victims of discrimination based on their marital status. The counterclaim alleges Louis was ordered to fire Morgan because he was supervising her and she was his romantic partner.
Louis M. Billotti filed a lawsuit against Springsteen and Sony Music in April 2023 on behalf of his father's estate, claiming someone who worked for the singer promised his father compensation for using Louis A. Billotti's 1968 Pontiac GTO in a photo shoot for the cover of Springsteen’s "Only the Strong Survive" album, which came out in November 2022.
Billotti, the former owner of the Louis Mobile Dry Clean, died in May 2022 due to complications from COVID-19.
Springsteen's attorney, Brian Ansell, wrote in a response that Springsteen and his management are "not liable to the plaintiff," and that Billotti's estate is "not entitled to any monies from either Bruce Springsteen or Jon Landau Management, Inc."
