TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River police are urging residents to lock their vehicles and bring your valuables inside your home, after an uptick in vehicle burglaries across the township.

"Most car burglaries are either unlocked car doors or people leaving purses or valuables in plain view and having their windows broken," police said on the department's Facebook page.

"Please lock your doors and hide valuables even if you are just leaving your car for a few minutes," the post said.
