Toms River School Board Approves New Principal At High School South
Kevin Raylman, who has worked for the district since 1997 and been assistant principal at North since 2008, will take over July 1.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Regional Board of Education approved the appointment of Kevin Raylman as principal at Toms River High School South.
Raylman, an assistant principal at Toms River High School North, is set to take over at Toms River South on July 1, with a salary of $153,000.
Mike Citta, who has been the principal at Toms River South since 2018, took over as superintendent of the district Friday. Citta, who was born and raised in Toms River, attended the district's schools and has spent his career in the district.

"These past several months have driven home the reality that Toms River is composed of the most dedicated teachers and administrators, the most talented students, and the most supportive families," Citta wrote in a letter to district staff and families on Friday. I look forward, sincerely, to working with and alongside all of you."
Toms River South has three assistant principals, John Oberti, Christopher Peck, and Mark Sullivan, to assist with the transition over the final two months of the 2021-22 school year.

Raylman's appointment as principal at Toms River South was praised by board members and by staff and parents in the audience on Wednesday night, who called him the perfect fit for South.
He started at Toms River North in 1997 as a career and technology teacher, teaching computer and graphic design. He was promoted to assistant principal at Toms River North in 2008. Before he became an assistant principal, he coached soccer from 1997-2008 and ice hockey from 2005-2008 at the school.
