Women Ordered Held In Fatal Grocery Store Parking Crash In Jackson (patch.com) — Toms River readers are learning that two women charged in a Jackson grocery store parking lot crash that killed a 9‑month‑old have been ordered held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River pending trial. One woman, who lives in Toms River, and the other from Trenton face serious criminal charges and federal immigration detainers while the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office continues its case.

Day Of Drinking, Bar Stop Preceded Fatal Boat Crash In Toms River, Authorities Say (patch.com) — Toms River's waterways are at the center of a deadly Barnegat Bay crash where authorities say a North Jersey man, allegedly well over the legal alcohol limit, slammed a 32‑foot boat into a marker near the Route 37 bridge. Local police, EMS and investigators responded to the Silver Lagoon Drive dock, where one passenger died, two were critically injured, and extensive alcohol evidence was recovered on the vessel.

Woman, Toddler Fall From Sky Ride In Seaside Heights, Police Say (patch.com) — Emergency crews rushed a woman and two young children to Community Medical Center in Toms River after a 2-year-old girl fell from the Seaside Heights Sky Ride and her aunt jumped after her. While the boy in their car was safely rescued and uninjured, all three Bridgeton family members were evaluated in Toms River as officials investigate the ride's operation and response.

Toms River mayor halts council pay in fight over required class (app.com) — Toms River's mayor has halted pay for four Township Council majority members, arguing they skipped a required Faulkner Act training that a council resolution ties to their salaries. The councilors insist a Kean University course at Ocean County College meets the mandate, escalating an ongoing power struggle within the all-Republican local government over training, communication, and authority.
