Toms River Schools Closed Friday Due To Blizzard
District officials will make a decision about Saturday's scheduled activities on Friday, they said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Regional School District will be closed again on Friday, Jan. 5, due to the ongoing impact of the blizzard.
Nearly a foot of snow was on the ground in the township and surrounding areas as of 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service Mount Holly office, and the snow was continuing to fall heavily well into the afternoon. The blizzard warning was not expected to be lifted until at least 7 p.m., the service said.
Donovan Catholic and St. Joseph's Elementary School also are closed Friday.

The Toms River Regional schools said all activities scheduled for Friday are canceled as well because of the "continued and anticipated poor conditions on area roads and driveways because of the snowstorm."
A decision on Saturday's activities will be made sometime on Friday, officials said in a post on the district's Facebook page.
