Toms River Staff Donates $1,000 In Gift Cards To Texas Town
The collection was part of the Shore2Help drive to help the residents of Beaumont, Texas, which was battered by Hurricane Harvey.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Ugly Sweater Day at work in the Toms River Township municipal offices turned into a gift of support for families recovering from Hurricane Harvey, part of the Shore2Help drive.
As part of the ongoing township- and school district-wide effort to raise funds for the residents of Beaumont, Texas, the township staff held an Ugly Sweater Day where they contributed gift cards for the privilege of wearing their ugly sweaters. The cards totaled $1,000 in value.
The gift cards were packed up and shipped down to Beaumont the next day, officials said.

The Shore2Help gift card collection drive began in November. Gift cards -- only cards to Lowe's, Home Depot, Target and Walmart are being accepted. Donors are asked to write the value on the cards for easier distribution.

- The People's Pantry, 1769 Hooper Avenue
- Toms River Schools, 1144 Hooper Avenue (teachers will be collecting gift cards from students/parents)
