Toms River Student Arrested In 'Violent' Instagram Threat: Police

Breaking: Authorities said he would not return to school until "a comprehensive evaluation" is complete; the threat was deemed not credible.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A 15-year-old student from the Toms River schools was arrested after he allegedly posted a threat against one of the schools on Instagram, police said Wednesday.

Police were alerted to the threat late Tuesday night, Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said. The Instagram post "alluded to a violent act," he said, but authorities did not give details.

Stocco said the investigation into the threat was a joint effort between the police department and Toms River Superintendent David Healy's office.
