Toms River Students Hold Voter Drive On Columbine Anniversary

While other students walked out to mark the anniversary and protest gun violence, Toms River North students looked to the future.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — While some students across the nation walked out of the middle schools and high schools on Friday to protest gun violence, students in Toms River took a decidedly different tactic.

Friday, April 20 marked the 19th anniversary of the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School, where 13 people were killed and 20 others were wounded before the two gunmen shot and killed themselves.

Students at Toms River High School North organized a voter registration drive to sign up the next generation of voters.
