Toms River Water Main Break Under Repair, Washington St. Closed

The repair work is disrupting traffic near Whittier Avenue, the water company said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Crews from Suez Water are repairing a water main break near Washington Street and Whittier Avenue on Wednesday, the water company said.

Washington Street is closed between Whittier Avenue and Gold Street while the repair is being made and traffic is being detoured, said Jane Kunka, Suez spokesperson.

The repair is anticipated to take several hours.

The company was scheduled to be doing work repairing fire hydrants in the area on Wednesday, but that has been disrupted by the water main repair and will be rescheduled.
