Upcoming Health Education Programs at Community Medical Center
Community Medical Center offers programs to help you improve or maintain your health.

May 22, 2017, Toms River, NJ - Knowledge can be one of the best tools available to improve or maintain your health. Community Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, offers a variety of programs to help educate you and your loved ones about your health or procedures you are considering. Our programs are led by expert teams dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the community we serve.
American Cancer Society’s Look Good, Feel Better program is a free hair, makeup and skin care workshop for women dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation held at the Inspiration Boutique in the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community Medical Center. The next workshop will be held Monday, July 17, 10 am – noon. For more information and to register, call 1-(800)-227-2345.
Bariatric Surgery Overview & Treatment Options Seminar is held on the first Monday of every month, unless otherwise noted, at 6 pm in the Community Medical Center Auditorium. The seminar is open to anyone considering weight loss surgery. A support group will follow. The seminar and support group are free, but pre-registration is required by call 1.888-724-7123. The next sessions are June 5 and July 3.

Nutrition & Your Cancer Diagnosis seminar is held on the second Wednesday of every month, 3 – 4 pm in the Auditorium at Community Medical Center at 99 Highway 37 West, Toms River for patients who are newly diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers. An oncology nutritionist will present a free, hour-long seminar and answer questions related to healthy eating during cancer treatment. Registration is required by calling 732-557-2317. The next program is June 14.
Orthopedic Physician Lecture will be held on Thursday, June 8, at 5:30 pm in the Auditorium at Community Medical Center at 99 Highway 37 West, Toms River. Dr. William F. Kennard, board certified orthopedic surgeon, will present. Pre-registration is required. Call 732-557-8194.
