Water Main Replacement Monday In Downtown Toms River
If you live on the affected street, your water service will be disrupted for part of the day, the water company said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — If you have to travel through downtown Toms River on Monday, be aware that a traffic disruption is possible due to a water main replacement project.
A notice from SUEZ said it is in the process of replacing the water main on Dayton Avenue, work that requires disconnection of the old water main from Main Street.
That work also means there will be a temporary shutoff of water service to several homes in the area, the SUEZ notice said.

Work is scheduled to begin about 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, with the water service disruption expected to begin about 9 a.m. and last until about 2 p.m., the notice said.
"SUEZ recognizes that temporary water service shutdowns are inconvenient, and we apologize, but please understand that this project enables SUEZ to enhance water quality, service and sustainably manage its water systems," the notice said.

The company recommends customers fill clean containers with water for drinking and cooking while service is disrupted and fill sinks or bathtubs and use that water for washing and flushing the toilet.
"Customers may experience discolored water during and shortly after the shutdown," the notice said. "These are harmless minerals that have accumulated in the mains, and while the water is safe to drink, customers should run their cold water tap for about five minutes or until the water is clear."
The addresses that will be affected by the temporary shutoff on Monday are as follows:
Dayton Avenue: 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 31, 35
Main Street: 619, 623, 703
