WEATHER UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Brick
The National Weather Service says 70 mph winds are possible with this storm, as well as flash flooding.

The National Weather Service is urging Brick residents to be prepared, as it has upgraded its original severe thunderstorm watch to a warning.
The warning from the weather service, issued about 6:15 p.m., says a line of severe thunderstorms were seen on Doppler radar and moving east at 70 miles per hour.
“This storm has had a history of downing trees and producing wind gusts of around 70 mph,” the warning says. “Please remain indoors until this threat passes.”

The storm has caused a ground stop to be ordered at Philadelphia International Airport until the storm passes, meaning there will be no flights in or out.
“Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds, large hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain,” the service said. The warning urges residents to move into an interior room away from windows.
