As part of an ongoing effort to ensure that Social Distancing does not become Social Isolation, the Welcome Center Staff has been calling members daily to check on their well-being. Since the closure, they have reached out to more than 1500 members. “We want to be sure our members are keeping in touch with family and friends, have access to food and medications, and are getting some fresh air and exercise,” said JoAnn Kermick, Membership and Marketing Director. “Now more than ever, we want our members to know they are not alone, that they are our family, and the Y is there for them.”

In addition to daily wellness check calls, the Ocean County YMCA continues its partnership with Fulfill to provide Crisis Relief Food Pick-Ups every Friday. This assistance is available to ALL members of the community, not just Y members. To date, over 1000 boxes have been provided.
