Wendell Ferandos MBA For Councilman Ward 3

Political Candidate

Hello people of Toms River. My name is Wendell Ferandos. I'm an MBA, a lifetime resident of this town and I am running for Tom's River town council Ward 3. I am running on Assemblyman John Wisniewski's slate, the lead investigator in the bridge-gate scandal and gubernatorial candidate. My friend John and I are running on a progressive, forward thinking platform. There are a range of issues in this regard. But there is one in particular that has and continues to affect the large senior citizen population in toms ever and myself. That is healthcare and the need for single-payer system. I have had a ration my medication because it isn't enough for pharmaceutical companies to make a tidy profit, they have to squeeze every nickel they can out of you. I have been kicked off of my private sector health insurance for my pre-existing conditions. A single-payer system would enable us to acquire quality healthcare for a much lower cost. This is possible by completely cutting out the middleman "i.e." Insurance companies. We need to go from the patient directly to the provider. Insurance companies are nothing more than the cost of unnecessary administration. 50% of our healthcare costs go to this unnecessary administration, our insurance companies. Let's do what's best for our people and put an end to it.

I am tired of hearing Speaker of the house Paul Ryan talk about how the American people want their choice of health Insurance companies. Health insurance is not the same thing as healthcare. And to Mr. Ryan's choice of Insurance approach to healthcare I would say this. Free market approach works great if were talking about the choice between Coke and Pepsi, McDonald's or Burger King. But I can survive with out soda and I can survive without fast food, I cannot survive without adequate and affordable healthcare. If I buy car insurance it is not a foregone conclusion that I will get into an accident, I might but I might not. However, if you are a human being living on planet earth, you will get sick at some point. What's next? Will we have to buy water insurance just in case we get thirsty or want to take a shower? We need a common sense straight forward approach to healthcare. We must change the profit driven motive approach to healthcare. We must stop the unethical and indeed criminal practice of profiting from the suffering of others. We must end this shameful and heartless chapter in American healthcare history. We must push, prod, and pressure our representatives into crafting legislation for a single-payer system. If you share this view, then vote for me, Wendell Ferandos for Councilman Ward 3 and John Wisniewski for Governor of New Jersey.
