Winding River Skating Closing Early, TR School Board Postponed
The winter storm and its effects on the roads are prompting the changes.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — The winter storm that is depositing snow and making roads slippery throughout the state has led to some closings and cancellations in Toms River on Wednesday.
Toms River officials said the Winding River Skating Center in Toms River is closing at 5 p.m., said Stacy Proebstle, Toms River public information officer.
In addition, the Toms River Regional Board of Education meeting that was scheduled for 7 p.m. has been postponed and will be rescheduled, the district said. A new date for the meeting was not immediately announced.

Emergency management officials and law enforcement have been warning motorists about slippery driving throughout Ocean County. The Ocean County sheriff's office issued a warning about icy conditions on the Tunney and Mathis bridges that carry Route 37 across Barnegat Bay between Toms River and Seaside Heights.
