1. Police seek missing man in Trenton (newportdispatch.com) — Trenton police are asking residents to help locate 64-year-old Deric Jones, missing since early July and known to frequent local soup kitchen, rescue mission and Rush Crossing Apartments areas. Jones, who has paranoid schizophrenia and can become aggressive when agitated, is described in detail, and anyone with information is urged to call Trenton police immediately.
   

2. Former Trenton Middle School Site To Become 107-Unit Senior Housing Complex (communitynews.org) — Trenton's former Junior One Middle School site on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is set to become a 107-unit affordable senior housing complex after securing $54.3 million in state Aspire funding. The Trenton Housing Authority's Choice Junior One project will add on-site services, a daycare center, and community amenities, with construction starting December 2026 and move-ins expected in fall 2028.
   

3. Breeze Starts Flights at NJ Airport (airlinegeeks.com) — Breeze Airways has begun twice-weekly flights from Trenton to Charleston and one-stop service to Fort Lauderdale, expanding affordable travel options for local residents. More routes from Trenton to Vero Beach and Fort Myers will roll out between late September and early January, further connecting Mercer County travelers to popular Florida destinations.
   

4. Historic Macedonia Baptist Church earns place on N.J. Black Heritage Trail (nj.com subscription) — Trenton is part of New Jersey's expanding Black Heritage Trail, which now links historic Black sites from Cape May to several major cities. A new marker at Cape May's Macedonia Baptist Church highlights its deep role in African American life and connects with other trail locations, giving residents and visitors a richer, statewide picture of Black history.
