This beautiful stone was named after the Greek word "sapphirus", meaning blue, Sapphires have long been a favorite among priests and kings, who considered them symbolic of wisdom and purity. These gemstones are prominent among the British Crown Jewels. You may remember that Prince Charles chose this as the engagement stone for his fiancée, Princess Diana, and now it is the engagement ring of Kate Middleton, Prince William’s wife.

Sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum. Corundum is found in every color of the rainbow, with red being designated as ruby and all other hues Sapphire, but the rich deep blue is the norm that people are looking for when they buy jewelry. They are found today in Sri Lanka, Kashmir, Thailand, Australia, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, China, Madagascar, and the United States. Large specimens of Corundum crystals are rare, although the 563-carat “Star of India” can be viewed in the American Museum of Natural History.
In ancient times, Sapphires were thought to be a protection stone from envy, and even against poisoning. Their color ranges from blue, white, black, purple (also known as Oriental Amethyst), yellow (known as Oriental Topaz) and green (known as Oriental Emerald). This gem can be used to rid oneself of unwanted thoughts and brings joy and peace of mind via opening the mind to beauty and intuition. Sapphires represent sincerity and faithfulness, and bring joy, happiness and good thoughts to the wearer. Many use this stone as a stone of prosperity.
The Sapphire is second only to the Diamond in hardness, making it a durable gemstone for expensive pieces of jewelry.

Important changes in romance will help you feel so much better about yourself. There is a great deal of good luck and blessings coming to you in health, career and formal education (including lectures, seminars, workshops, or training of any kind). You have many opportunities from which to choose this month, but if you don’t choose any of these opportunities, they may pass you by and won’t be available in the future. Prosperity and abundance is there for you if you persevere and move towards your goals and dreams. It is also a time where you should be somewhat careful about what is being said behind your back. Not everyone has your best interest at heart, so if you hear of a rumor or gossip about you, you must confront it and deal with it in a positive way so that it will stop. Otherwise, it may continue. TAURUS - April 19 – May 19
Personal and business partnerships seem to be going in a very positive direction. It seems that you are looking for a new job/career and better opportunities will be coming shortly. You will get a new position (whether within your company or not is up to you), and you will be in a much better and supportive environment. The opportunities are there for you to make many choices and once made, you will be surprised at how easily things will fall into place for you. There comes a point where you are enabling others and they will be dependent upon you for a long time if you don’t set some serious boundaries now.
GEMINI - May 20 – June 19
Good luck follows you around now, so make some of the plans you never had time for in the past. Happy times and celebrations seem to surround you. CANCER - June 20 – July 21
Make time for some issues that need to be dealt with or discussed. It is time to let some people go in your life, especially the ones who constantly use you without a word of thanks or appreciation. You are going in a much better direction as long as you don’t get side tracked with others’ problems and anxieties. It also seems that you will have a very serious issue with someone very close to you. There is room for compromise; however, it may be something that needs constant compromise and both parties need to be committed to the resolution to make it work. If things seem too overwhelming, then you have a decision to make as to whether or not to keep the relationship/friendship or to move on. There is room to make things work out, but it won’t be easy. Any relationship worth anything is worth giving it all you have. You tend to be somewhat of a workaholic now and are very overburdened and nearly burnt out. Focus, prioritize, delegate and just do what needs to be done now and let other things go for now. LEO - July 22 – August 21
Change is on the horizon. Finding out what you need to be striving for isn’t as easy as you once thought. Work issues may be a cause for concern. You seem to be looking over your shoulder at times which may mean that others do not have your best interests at heart now. If you are seeking a new job/career, this would be a great time to start looking. You need to stop procrastinating and do whatever makes you happy. CAPRICORN - December 21 – January 19
