Butler Public Library Will Be A Cooling Center To Help Residents During Heat Wave

BUTLER, NJ — Borough of Butler is urging residents to take steps to protect themselves during the heat wave later this week.

To provide relief from the heat, the Butler Public Library at One Ace Road will serve as a cooling center from Wednesday through the weekend. The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Officials advise residents to stay hydrated by drinking water regularly, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and check on elderly neighbors, young children, and those without air conditioning.

The borough also reminds the public never to leave children or pets inside parked vehicles, as temperatures can rise rapidly and become life-threatening.

Residents are encouraged to watch for signs of heat-related illness, including dizziness, nausea, rapid heartbeat, confusion, and fainting.
