All entrances to the reservoir were closed off during the search, police said. Fire departments from the area assisted with the search on Monday.

This is not the first time this season rescue officials have responded to Splitrock Reservoir. Earlier this month, a woman was rescued by Rockaway firefighters after becoming stranded in the lake. The woman said she tied her kayak up when she was done, but the kayak go loose and floated away. She swam after the kayak to retrieve it, but was unable to grab it.
