Car Ignites After Not Being Started for Months

A vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames Wednesday afternoon on Third Street in Bloomingdale, police said Thursday.

Police said the owner of the vehicle said he had not had the vehicle running in several months and that when he started it up and exited it, it suddenly burst into flames. also said during the fire, the owner, Jeffrey Venema, 53, of Bloomingdale, repeatedly attempted to go into the vehicle, ignoring the warnings of Bloomingdale Police Sgt.
