11-Year-Old Accused of Assaulting School Bus Aide
Essex Junior Academy student allegedly shoved bus company worker who was trying to break up a fight.

An 11-year-old boy, a student at Essex Junior Academy, has been charged with aggravated assault for shoving a school bus aide last Friday, according to Cedar Grove Police.
Officers went to the school's Pompton Avenue location at about 9 a.m. after receiving a report that a student allegedly assaulted the bus company staffer by pushing her backwards with both hands after she attempted to stop a fight in the school parking lot, according to police.
The aide said she was not injured in the incident, according to police.

The child was taken to CGPD headquarters, charged and released to the custody of a guardian pending a ruling from the Essex County Juvenile Court, Police Chief Richard Vanderstreet told Patch.
