On Monday, July 18 at 9:03 p.m., police arrested a Bloomfield man on a charge that he was operating a motor vehicle while his NJ driving privileges were under suspension. The 19-year-old defendant, Derrick L. Green, was processed on the charge at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Ptl. Jason Rivers was the arresting officer.

On Monday, July 18 at 9:16 p.m., Ptl. Eileen O’Toole initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. A subsequent check of the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicle (NJMVC) computer revealed that the operator’s driving privileges were under suspension. The 48-year-old operator, Tajemuli Miah of Paterson, was arrested on the charge, processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

On Wednesday, July 20 at 9:06 a.m., Ptl. Robert McDermott initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. A subsequent check of the NJMVC computer revealed that the operator’s driving privileges were under suspension. The 41-year-old operator, Lissa Stuart of Lyndhurst, was arrested on the charge, processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

On Wednesday, July 20, a Township woman reported a series of incidents where she was approached by a suspicious person while jogging on the Essex County Bicycle Path in the area of the trestle that crosses the Peckman River in Community Park. The victim reported that over the course of the last month, she was approached by the same male subject on three separate occasions. The victim reported that on the first occasion, the man attempted to initiate a conversation with her but she continued running. On the second occasion, the man started to run alongside her, again attempting to initiate a conversation. On the third occasion, she saw the man stopped ahead of her blocking the path and used the woods to go around him, at which time the man ran towards her and then past her. The victim described the subject as being a white male in his late twenties with short brown hair, approximately 6’ 2” in height, weighing approximately 230 lbs. Any person having observed this individual or having additional information is asked to contact police at (973) 239-4100.

On Thursday, July 21 at 7:49 p.m., Ptl. Jose Rodriguez initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. A subsequent check of the NJMVC computer revealed that the operator’s driving privileges were under suspension. The 24-year-old operator, Bryan Y. Engracia of Belleville, was arrested on the charge, processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

On Saturday, July 23, police recovered a bicycle that was found abandoned on East Lindsley Road. The bicycle, a blue & grey Mongoose brand, is being stored at police headquarters pending the location of its owner.

On Saturday, July 23 at 9:04 p.m., police arrested a Washington Township man on charges that he was operating an unregistered motor vehicle while his NJ driving privileges were under suspension. The 35-year-old defendant, Todd V. Ehrenfels, was processed on the charges at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Ptl. Joseph Russomanno was the arresting officer.

On Sunday, July 24, a Brunswick Road resident reported an incident of theft. The victim reported that sometime during the past two weeks, some unknown person(s) removed a toolbox containing a variety of hand tools from his driveway. The tool box, which was grey in color, and the tools had an aggregate value of $200.00.
