Police activity Nov. 21-27.

The following reports were prepared by the Cedar Grove Police Department and do not necessarily indicate a conviction.

On Monday, Nov. 21 at 9:00 p.m., police charged a Bloomfield woman with operating an uninsured motor vehicle that was bearing a suspended NJ registration.  The 49 year-old operator, Marie R. Montalvo, was cited for the violations and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  The defendant’s vehicle, a 2004 Mazda, was impounded.  Ptl. Carolyn Zajack was the investigating officer.

On Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 9:56 a.m., police arrested an Orange man who was wanted on an outstanding traffic warrant issued by the Cedar Grove Court.  The 21 year-old defendant, Sergio Garnica-Pachecol, was processed on the charge at police headquarters and released after posting the required bail.  Ptl. Jose Rodriguez was the arresting officer.

On Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 4:34 p.m., police arrested a Glen Ridge man on charges that he was operating an unregistered motor vehicle while his NJ driving privileges were under suspension.  The 44 year-old defendant, Robert Copeck, was processed on the charges at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Ptl. Jose Rodriguez was the arresting officer.

On Friday, Nov. 25 at 12:39 a.m., police arrested a Wayne man on a charge that he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.   The 66 year-old defendant, John J. Schunke, was processed on the charge at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Ptl. Dominick Buscio was the arresting officer.

On Sunday, Nov. 27 at 12:36 a.m., police charged a Verona man with operating an uninsured motor vehicle bearing a suspended NJ registration.  The 27 year-old defendant, Christopher P. Jara, was cited for the violations and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  The defendant’s vehicle, a 2010 Ford Mustang, was impounded.  Ptl. Jason Wolfstirn was the investigating officer.

On Sunday, Nov. 27 at 11:11 p.m., Ptl. Jason Wolfstirn initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation.  A subsequent check of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) computer revealed that the operator’s driving privileges were under suspension.  The 25 year-old operator, Tiffany S. Johnston of Orange, was arrested on the charge, processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
