In Cedar Grove: Suspended Licenses / Traffic Warrant

Police Blotter: Aug. 3 to 10

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Cedar Grove police blotter, a listing of selected incidents that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On Tuesday, August 4, at 4:47 p.m., Sgt. Frank Pumphrey initiated a motor vehicle stop for observed violations. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 35 year-old vehicle operator, Omar J. Robinson of Newark, after a check of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) computer revealed his NJ driving privileges were under suspension. The defendant was processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

On Wednesday, August 5, at 7:44 p.m., police arrested a West Orange man on a charge he was operating a motor vehicle while his NJ driving privileges were under suspension. The 20 year-old defendant, Roman E. Whitlock, was processed on the charge at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance.

On Thursday, August 6, at 3:26 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 41 year-old operator, Jorge D. Montesdeoca of Orange, after it was determined he was wanted on an outstanding traffic warrant issued by the West Orange Court. The defendant was processed at police headquarters and released after posting the required bail.

On Monday, August 10, at 1:35 a.m., police arrested a Mormora man on charges he was operating an unregistered motorcycle while his NJ driving privileges were under suspension. The 24 year-old defendant, Steven R. Honickel, was processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
