Cedar Grove Woman Struck, Pinned by FedEx Truck

Police: Woman in stable condition.

An elderly Cedar Grove woman is reportedly in stable condition after she was struck by a FedEx truck on Thursday morning, police said Friday.

According to police, the 79-year-old woman, whose identity was not released, was walking through the CVS Pharmacy parking lot at 1041 Pompton Ave. when she was knocked down by the truck. The truck's rear wheels then rolled over her legs.

Police say the driver of the FedEx truck, Jorge E. Trivino, 28, of Dover, said he was backing up to allow a parked vehicle to exit the parking lot and that he did not observe the woman until he backed up the truck.
