Community philanthropist Dr Lynne B Harrison of Verona will be honored at the 2015 Spring Gala on June 10

On June 10, Golda Och Academy will honor Dr Lynne B Harrison of Verona at the 2015 Spring Gala at Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston for her commitment and generous support of the school’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program.
Recognizing the importance of STEM education and its future for students, Dr Lynne B Harrison, president of Harrison Research Laboratories, Inc., has been a staunch supporter of advancing STEM at GOA. In 2013, thanks to a generous grant, GOA launched the Dr Lynne B Harrison STEM program, which enabled the school to hire a new STEM Coordinator as well as fund a new intensive high school STEM class, high school robotics team, computer science electives, 3D printers and a brand new Macintosh lab. Her most recent contribution to the school will fund the new Dr Lynne B Harrison Stem Center at the Eric F. Ross Upper School Campus.
Dr Harrison founded Harrison Research Laboratories, Inc. on Vauxhall Road in Union, in 1981. The company tests products for safety and efficacy for major companies worldwide. She is also vice president of the board of trustees of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and a member of its executive committee. In addition, Dr Harrison funded the Dr Lynne B Harrison Science Center at the New Jersey “Y” Camps, which offers specialty science education to young Jewish campers. She is a member of the board of Space Israel and chair of the USA Board of Space Israel. As vice chair of the Hillel International Board of Directors and a member of the Hillel International Board of Governors, Dr Harrison was named “Woman of the Year” in 2009.
