East Orange Man Eludes Cedar Grove Police, Captured in Clifton
Suspect driving stolen Porsche Cayenne arrested nearby after high-speed chase .

An East Orange man, who led Cedar Grove police on a high-speed chase through the township Thursday morning before eluding them, was arrested a short time later in nearby Clifton, officials said Thursday.
Cedar Grove police attempted to stop a stolen 2004 Porsche Cayenne driven by Kenneth D. Daniels at 7:27 a.m. at the intersection of Pompton and Stevens avenues, officials said.
However, officials said, Daniels refused to stop and began the high-speed chase heading north on Pompton Avenue. Officers pursued until losing sight of the Porsche as it approached the Route 23/Route 46/Interstate 80 interchange, police said.

The car had been reported stolen in Little Ferry on Feb. 13.
Clifton Police recognized the car when it became disabled on Rt. 21 and Daniels was arrested after a short foot chase.

Police charged Daniels with eluding police, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, reckless driving and driving while suspended.
Daniels is being held by the Clifton Police and will appear in court in Newark on March 14 to answer the Cedar Grove charges.
