Essex County Battery Heist Reported At AT&T Cell Tower

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Yet another cell tower battery heist has taken place in Essex County, the latest in a long-running series of thefts across the area. The latest theft, which was reported at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 30, involved the AT&T cell tower at 89 Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove, authorities say.

According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, eight batteries valued at $400 each were taken from the facility. The incident remains under investigation.
