February Happenings at the Cedar Grove Library

Since February is the month where we celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Cedar Grove Library is offering patrons to take part in a Blind date with a Book! (or other materials as well). Simply pick up a wrapped book, audiobook and/or DVD and take it out without peeking inside. Then let, them know how the date went! Each book or media item includes a slip on which the library encourages the patron to “rate your date”. 

Also in February:

Two movies will be offered in February at the library, “Groundhog Day” will be shown on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 11:30 a.m. and “Sarah’s Key” will be shown on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 1:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 1:00 p.m. and every Wednesday thereafter a Quilling Workshop will begin. Quilling is the art of rolling, shaping and gluing strips of paper to make beautiful designs and pictures.  Come and join us for this free workshop.

On Saturday, Feb. 4 to commemorate Chinese New Year the library will be presenting a program on Chinese Culture starting 11:00 a.m. Included at this event will be classic stories, legends & literature, musical instruments, dance and key dynasties.

On Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 3:30 p.m. “Tween Tuesday” for those between the ages of 8-12 are invited to come to the library and make your very own wallet out of duct tape.

On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10:00 a.m.  Join R.E.A.L.I.S.E. a special Saturday story time held at the library geared towards families with special needs children. All families are welcome.

On Monday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. a scrapbooking workshop will be held and scrapbookers of all skill levels are welcome. Please bring your own materials such as scissors, glue, pictures/photos, etc.

On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6:00 p.m. a documentary film “GasLand” presented by The Cedar Grove Environmental Commission will be shown at the library. The focus of the film is on American-rural landowners who wake up one day to find a lucrative offer from an energy company wanting to lease their property.  107 Minutes.
