ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Services for a pregnant Verona woman allegedly killed by a suspected drunk driver from Belleville are set for Saturday.

The Essex County community is still mourning the loss of 34-year-old Megan Longo Villanella, who died after being struck by a car while waiting at a bus stop at Lakeside Avenue and Pease Avenue in Verona with her brother, prosecutors say.

Villanella was due with her second child in May, and was married with a 22-month-old daughter, Isabelle Ava, her obituary stated.

Casale was also charged with driving while under the influence, failure to maintain his lane and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, prosecutors stated.

Police allege that around 7:45 a.m. on Friday March 3, Villanella and her 30-year-old brother were waiting at a bus stop at Lakeside Avenue and Pease Avenue when Casale struck them in a 2006 white Mitsubishi.

“I can’t say enough good things about her,” Jim Villanella, her husband of nine years, told NorthJersey.com. “She was unique and special and kind. She was the love of my life and she loved me and I loved her. She loved her daughter also.”
