Paradiso Hair & Nail Salon Prepares for Prom
Season is busiest time of year for local salon.

After working at a different salon for only a short period of time, Rosanna Vescuso bought Paradiso Salon 21 years ago, and has been in business ever since.
The full-service salon provides hair, makeup and nail services, so it is a one-stop place for those getting ready for prom.
Since it has been in town for more than two decades, Paradiso has established a large base of clientele who return to the salon year after year. Prom time gets particularly busy, because then not only do regular customers come in to get made up, but many others in town also make appointments.

“It’s a very busy time. In fact, it’s our busiest time of the year,” said owner Vescuso.
While prom season is especially busy because of weeks of scheduling appointments, stocking products, and consulting with prom-goers, prom day alone is by far the busiest, because all of the hair and makeup appointments come in on the day of prom.

Though typical prom hairstyles for girls include blowouts and rings of curls, “this year, braids are very popular,” said Vescuso. “A lot of people are asking for waterfall braids, and usually in a half-up style.”
Of course, the hair alone could not be done without taking into account the rest of the ensemble. “Girls bring in pictures of dresses, and we use that to create a hair up-do,” explained Vescuso.
“We do makeup too, and we'll see the dress and pick makeup colors that match with their dress,” added Vescuso.
Although Paradiso will be packed with appointments during the day of prom, the day’s rush is worth ensuring the girls’ look for the night, as well as beautiful prom photos to look back on years later.
