Police Blotter: Verona Police Officer Hit Head-On
The following information has been provided by the Cedar Grove Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

April 9: A 31-year-old North Bergen man was arrested for driving with a suspended license, after being stopped by police at 6:42 p.m.
Luis A. Davila was released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 9: A 28-year-old Bloomfield woman had her 2005 Nissan Altima impounded by police at 8:25 p.m. for driving with a suspended registration.

Lauren Jutchenko was given a citation for the violation and released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 9: A 43-year-old Cedar Grove man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 10:38 p.m.

Mervat L. Rezk was charged and released pending a municipal court appearace.
April 9: A 43-year-old Wharton woman was arrested for driving with a suspend license at 10:57 p.m.
Linda E. Sullivan was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 10: A 23-year-old Livingston man had his 2001 Nissan Sentra impounded by police at 9:22 p.m. for driving without insurance or registration for the car.
Michael A. Esposito was given citations and released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 11: A 21-year-old Kearny man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 12:31 a.m.
After arresting Augustus L. Camaraza, a police investigation found he had an outstanding traffic warrant from Hillside. He was processed and released after posting the bail.
April 12: A Verona resident told police her wallet was stolen from her purse while she shopped at Foodtown, located at 597 Pompton Ave. in Cedar Grove.
She said her wallet, containing cash, credit cards and her identification, was stolen between 12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. It was referred to the detective bureau for follow-up investigation.
April 13: A 54-year-old Verona man was arrested for driving with a suspended license after being stopped by police at 7:14 p.m.
Patrick Pericolo was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 13: A 32-year-old East Orange man was arrested for driving with a suspended license after being stopped by police at 8:11 p.m.
Frank T. Barrino III was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 14: A 41-year-old West Orange woman's 2006 Dodge Caravan was impounded for driving with a suspended registration at 11:02 p.m.
Lesly P. Cardoza, was given a citation and released pending a municipal court appearance.
April 15: A Verona police car was hit head-on at 3:33 a.m. by a Cedar Grove resident who crossed the center line on Pompton Avenue, near South Mountain Avenue, sending both drivers to the hospital.
Verona police officer, Erin K. McGarrity was heading towards Verona, when Marcos E. Sanabria, 32, driving a 1994 Honda Accord, said he fell asleep and drifted into oncoming traffic. McGarrity said she swerved to avoid Sanabria but could not.
Both were transported to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. McGarrity suffered back and head injuries and Sanabria complained of pain in his chest from the crash. Neither injuries were said to be life threatening.
Both vehicles were towed from the accident.
Sanabria was issued a summons for crossing the center line into oncoming traffic.
April 15: A 31-year-old White Plains, N.Y., man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 6:42 p.m. after being stopped by police.
Dimitar Misev was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.
