Two homes burglarized of electronics, other valuables.

Cedar Grove Police are investigating a pair of daylight residential burglaries that took place over the weekend.

In both instances, the suspect forced open the front door of the homes, and ransacked the interior rooms, making off with laptop computers and jewelry.

The first incident was on Ridge Road on the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 16, and the second on Bentley Road on the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 18. Police Chief Richard Vanderstreet said the residents were not home at the time both incidents.

Based on witness accounts, police said they believe both burglaries may have been committed by the same suspect, who they are describing as a white male in his 40s, who was seen driving a white or silver older model Dodge Durango in connection with the burglaries.

Asked whether the department believes the suspect may have known the victims, Vanderstreet said at this point in the investigation there is no known connection between the victims and the suspect.
