Republican Booster From Verona Sets Sights On Essex County
The Verona resident will help the NJOEG outreach into "one of the most strategically important counties" in the state, its president says.

VERONA, NJ — A Verona resident who works in Morristown and has been extensively involved in the Republican party’s efforts in North Jersey has been named to a top political affairs position in Essex County.
On Friday, the New Jersey Organization for Economic Growth (NJOEG) announced that Mark Vogel of Verona will be the group’s new political and organizational affairs director for Essex County.
Vogel has been involved in local and state politics for 30 years and currently works as a senior digital strategist with an advertising firm in Morristown. He previously worked in Bergen County, starting as the Young Republican Club treasurer and president of the Rutherford Republican Club. Over time, Vogel worked for state legislators, the state Republican Organization and on Doug Forrester’s 2005 gubernatorial campaign.

He specializes in grassroots mobilization, micro-targeting and “get out the vote” activities, the NJOEG stated.
Vogel said he plans to use his new platform to highlight the economic issues that are harming the state and work to change them.

“New Jersey’s poor policy decisions have accumulated over decades and the inevitable result has had negative consequences for the state’s economy,” Vogel said. “The state needs to address its staggering tax and debt issues as well as its over-regulation of business – and it needs to do so quickly.”
NJOEG chairman Joseph Caruso said having Vogel on board will help the group’s outreach into “one of the most strategically important counties” in the state.
“Essex County could be a vital economic engine for New Jersey, but currently it is being stifled by alarmingly high property taxes and the lack of any pro-business initiatives from candidates for local, county and state offices,” said Caruso.
“Working with Mark, we have the opportunity to reach out to concerned parties in Essex and begin amassing support for the kind of policies that encourage economic growth, as opposed to policies that take money out of the pockets of homeowners and business owners,” Caruso added.
