This event is a collaborative effort between the USDA’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Office, Food and Nutrition Service, MarketLink, and agriculture and SNAP state agencies to help local farmers expand their customer base while providing healthy and nutritious options for SNAP recipients.
“This is a win-win situation for local farmers in New Jersey,” said Mid-Atlantic Region Administrator Patricia Dombroski. “Accepting SNAP benefits at farmers’ markets gives farmers direct access to new customers as well as provide healthy options to SNAP recipients and their families, while encouraging consumption of locally grown produce.”
