St. Catherine of Siena Announces Lent, Holy Week Schedules

The ancient rite of the imposition of ashes, a penitential practice, symbolizes a Catholic’s dependence upon God’s mercy and forgiveness. During Lent, the baptized are called to renew their baptismal commitment and not to merely abstain from sin during Lent, but to work towards a true conversion of
hearts and minds as followers of Christ. The three traditional pillars of Lenten observance are prayer, fasting and almsgiving. They are valuable to help bring about one’s baptismal renewal.

St. Catherine’s will also offer additional Lenten opportunities for faith enrichment:

Stations of the Cross: March 12 and March 19 at 7:30 p.m.

This devotional practice, with 14 stations, retraces the final journey of Jesus Christ to Calvary.

Reconciliation: Communal Penance Service with Individual Confessions: Sunday, March 26, 7:30 p.m.

Extended Individual Confessions: Saturday, March 31 (11 a.m.–2 p.m.); Tuesday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 4 (7 p.m.–9 p.m.)

Parish Mission: Sunday-Monday-Tuesday, March 25 – 27, 7:30pm, facilitated by Fr. Gary Wiesmann.

St. Catherine of Siena Parish has also announced its Holy Week and Easter Schedule, and encourages all to join in the beautiful Holy Week Liturgies, so that the glory of Easter may be more full and meaningful:
