Under-Construction Home in Verona Catches Fire
Local firefighters put out a blaze at an unoccupied Nassau Road home on Saturday.

An unoccupied and under-construction Verona home on Nassau Road caught fire on Saturday, June 6, prompting Verona and Cedar Grove firefighting crews to respond to the scene.
Verona Fire Chief Ken Gerlach told Patch that Verona firefighters arrived with a “full compliment of apparatus.”
After determining that the home was unoccupied, firefighters secured the utilities and mounted an aggressive interior attack on the first and second floors, extinguishing the blaze after about 20 minutes.

Firefighters from Cedar Grove remained on the scene to assist with overhaul.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
