Verona Cops Help Reunite Missing Senior With Family

Verona police say the missing senior citizen was found at a train stop in Long Branch.

VERONA, NJ — Verona police helped a missing, elderly man reunite with his family last month, authorities say.

According to the Verona Police Department, officer Giovanni DeSomma took a missing person report for a male senior citizen on Sept. 18. While investigating the incident, DeSomma received information that the missing man was possibly on a train headed to Belmar.

When he checked the train schedule, DeSomma saw that there was a stop in Long Branch and notified the local police. The Long Branch Police Department then sent an officer to the train station and found the missing senior, authorities said.
