Verona Police Investigating 3 Separate Burglaries

Detectives looking for clues to several burglaries which occurred between Monday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 10, police said.

Verona detectives are investigating a series of burglaries in the township over the course of three days last week, officials said Tuesday.

In the first incident on Monday, April 8, Verona Police were called to a Bloomfield Avenue residence at 10:38 a.m. in response to a burglary.

The owner reported during the past month someone had entered the home and removed several door handles valued at $1,000, police said.

At 6:18 p.m. that same day, police were called to a Martin Road residence on a separate burglary incident.

A resident reported that she discovered several items missing from the residence, police said. A neighbor reported he had seen a trailer parked by the house as well as workers going in and out of the home.

The resident is compiling a list and forward to the detective bureau for investigation, officials said.

Just two days later, on Wednesday, April 10, police were called to a Bloomfield Avenue apartment at 1:04 p.m. to investigate a burglary.

Officers found heavy damage to a door lock and frame and discovered the bedroom had been ransacked, police said.

The resident reported some cash and numerous pieces of jewelry were missing.

The Verona Detective Bureau is investigating, officials said.
