Verona Man Struck By Car in Chatham Suffers Head and Leg Injuries
Driver issued summons for failure to yield in Main Street accident.

A 61-year-old Verona man suffered serious, but not-life-threatening head and leg injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Main Street Wednesday afternoon in the Borough of Chatham, Borough Police said.
At 3:39 p.m. Chatham Borough Police responded to the intersection of Main Street and South Passaic Avenue after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck, police said.
Officer Daniel Walsh's investigation determined that a 2006 Honda driven by Natalie Tarengelo, 27, of Florham Park, was turning left from Main Street onto South Passaic Avenue when she struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the street, police said.

The pedestrian, Wayne Prestifilippo, 61, of Verona, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries to his head and leg, police said.
Prestifilippo was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the Chatham Emergency Squad for treatment, police said.

Tarengelo was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, according to police.
