Verona Police are asking parents to hold off on sending their children out for trick-or-treating tomorrow in light of the snowstorm, but say extra police will be patroling the streets on Friday to give kids a chance to celebrate Halloween.
Captain Mitchell Stern said Sunday night that the department has dispatched officers more than 400 times between 11 a.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday for storm-related calls, including downed power lines and fallen tree branches.

"We're asking parents not to send their kids out trick-or-treating because of the hazards of the power lines," he said.
On Monday afternoon, Stern said extra police patrols would be on duty to give trick-or-treaters a chance to go out on Friday, Nov. 4.
