3:34 PM Officer David Wardrope took a report of a found wallet from a Verona resident.The owner was located and the property returned.

4:22 PM Officer David Wardrope reported a cell phone was found and turned in by a Verona resident. The phone was returned to the owner.

4:28 PM Officer Michael Barone responded to a Pine Street business and took a report of an injury. A Point Pleasant resident was transported to the hospital with neck pain and a laceration to the head.

11:54 AM Officer William Frazee arrested Leonard Spera of Clifton on several outstanding out-of-township warrants. Spera was observed lying on the grass next to his bicycle on a side of Fairview Avenue and in the process of a welfare check the warrants were found. After processing he was released.

4:15 PM Officer Michael Barone responded to a Bloomfield Avenue business and took a report of an eye injury. An employee reported she struck her eye while picking up an item off of the floor. She was transported to the hospital.

6:17 PM Officer Robert Shafer responded to a Valhalla Way residence and took a report of malicious mischief.

12:29 AM Officer Paul Watkins arrested John Stefanik of Butler for driving while intoxicated. Stefanik was stopped after the officer observed him driving erratically on Pompton Avenue. Numerous summonses were issued as well as several complaints for supplying false information to a police officer.

1:17 PM Officer John Lecreux took a report of found property from a Verona resident.

12:03 PM Officer Anthony O’Connor responded to Wedgewood Drive and took a reportof malicious mischief.

3:11 PM Officer David Wardrope took a report of lost property from a Lynwood Road resident.

7:48 AM Officer Joseph Ballantyne took a report of property damage to a vehicle from aCedar Grove resident.

9:36 PM Officer Robert Shafer took a report of a robbery from a Pompton Avenue business employee. The employee reported he was robbed by two men after closing and leaving a store with a night deposit. The detective bureau responded for the investigation. Approximately $270 was stolen.

10:19 PM Officer Robert Shafer took a report of a found debit card. The owner was located and the card returned.

10:20 PM Officer Robert Shafer took a report of a found wallet in the roadway on Woodland Avenue. The owner was contacted and retrieved the wallet.

4:01 AM Officer Ron Thorward took a report of a theft from a vehicle at a Mountain Road residence. The officer was on patrol when he saw someone running from the driveway of the home and enter a waiting vehicle. After a short pursuit the officer lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle which was traveling at a high rate of speed. The resident reported a bag with several items was taken from her vehicle.

6:01 PM Officer Joel Martin took a report of a lost wallet. An out-of-township resident reported while walking in Verona she lost her wallet containing numerous forms of ID as well as credit/debit cards. While reporting the loss to the bank and closing the account, she was advised someone had used the card to make a purchase.

6:43 PM Officer Joseph Ballantyne responded to a Forest Avenue residence and took a report of a theft from a vehicle. The resident’s reported sometime over the past few days several pieces of jewelry were taken from their vehicle which was parked in the driveway. There was no sign of forced entry.

6:18 PM Officer David Wardrope responded to Pilgrim Plaza and took a report of a larceny from a vehicle. A business employee reported her vehicle was entered and numerous forms of ID as well as cash was stolen from her vehicle. She was provided with an Identity Theft Pamphlet.
