9:12 AM Officer John Lecreux took a report of a theft from a vehicle from a Green Acres Drive resident. Missing is an unknown amount of change.
10:00 AM Officer Anthony O’Connor responded to the Verona High School and took a report of malicious mischief. Principal Glen Cesa reported someone damaged the tennis court nets and a mechanical device used for the nets.

2:05 AM Sgt. Michael Traettino responded and took a report of a burglary at a Morningside Road residence. A resident reported upon returning home he entered the kitchen and from there went to enter a bathroom. Upon opening the door he observed a man crawling out of the window. The other residents were awakened and the police were contacted. Apparently the window screen had been cut to gain access. A check of the area found nothing, and nothing appears to be missing. The detective bureau will be investigating.
2:55 AM Officer Ron Thorward took a report of a burglary at a West Lincoln Street residence. The resident reported confronting an intruder after being awakened by a noise. Upon screaming for him to leave the intruder left through the open window he apparently used to gain entry. Several area police departments were advised and assisted in checking the area. Nothing appears to be missing.
10:47 AM Sergeant Stephen DePoe took a report of a theft from a vehicle. While checking the area later, a Morningside Road resident reported his vehicle was entered sometime during the night and an unknown amount of change was taken from his parked vehicle.
1:04 PM Officer William Frazee responded to a Morningside Road residence and took a report of an attempted burglary. The resident reported sometime during the night someone tried to gain access to his home by cutting an exterior window screen. No entry was reported.

9:22 AM Sgt. Stephen DePoe responded to a Fairview Avenue business and took a report of verbal harassment.
4:01 PM Officer Anthony Condorelli responded to Wildwood Terrace and took a report of property damage. A Pompton Plains resident reported while traveling on the street a tree branch fell shattering her windshield.
4:10 PM A Claremont Avenue resident reported a lost cell phone to Dispatcher John Collora.

12:06 PM A Bloomfield resident reported she lost her wallet while working at a Pompton Avenue business. Officer James Barry took the report.
1:47 PM Officer William Frazee took a report of fraud from a Brentwood Drive resident. The resident reported someone accessed her personal information to make an unauthorized debit on her account.
3:29 PM Officer William Frazee took a report and several Verona police officers responded after a NJ Transit worker reported a passenger may have a gun on the bus.
An Elizabeth resident reported while she was on the bus and on her cell phone another passenger told her to shut up and said he had a gun. After identifying the man, all other passengers were asked to exit the bus.
After speaking with and searching the man, no gun was found. The bus driver also reported he didn’t hear or witness any threats. The man was removed from the bus and all the other passengers returned and were allowed to continue on their way.
The man was checked for any outstanding warrants, but none were found. He was then advised to wait for the next available bus.
