The following reports were prepared by the Verona Police Department and do not indicate a conviction.

06/24/2011

7:41 AM Officer James Barry took a report of a larceny from a South Prospect Street resident.  The resident reported the larceny of cash from her home.

11:05 AM Officer Joel Martin took a report of fraud from a Linn Drive resident.  The resident reported someone used his information to obtain a credit account and charged several thousand dollars with of plastic surgery on the fraudulent card.

11:42 AM Officer Joel Martin took a report of identity theft from a Martin Road resident.  The resident reported receiving a bill for fraudulent charges against her debit account over the past several months.

12:07 PM Officer Robert Shafer responded to Claridge Drive and took a report of fraud from a resident.

1:00 PM Officer Robert Shafer took a report of lost property from a Birdseye Glen resident.

1:30 PM Lt. Bruce Smith took a report of a larceny from a Douglas Place resident.  The resident reported while at a night club in New York City earlier that morning, someone stole her diamond ring valued in the thousands.

4:35 PM Officer Michael Barone responded to a Hillwood Terrace residence and took a report of a water leak.

12:44 PM Officer Robert Shafer responded to a Grove Avenue home and took a report of a burglary.  The resident reported someone cut the screen on an enclosed porch and removed several items from the porch.

1:40 PM Officer Robert Shafer impounded a vehicle after investigating a motor vehicle accident.  A parked vehicle, which had been struck by another vehicle, was found to be uninsured and unregistered. Two summonses were issued.

11:14 AM Officer Joseph Ballantyne responded to an Elk Road residence and took a report of a stolen vehicle.  The resident reported the locked vehicle was taken from the driveway sometime overnight.

6:19 PM Sgt. Paul Watkins took a report of a suspicious person from a Bloomfield Avenue office employee.

8:07 AM Dispatcher Timothy McLoughlin took a report of a found cell phone.  The owner was located and the property returned.

8:14 PM Officer David Wardrope responded to a Bloomfield Avenue residence and took a report of harassment.

06/29/2011

6:40 AM Sgt. Stephen DePoe took a report of an attempted illegal entry into a vehicle.  An Upland Way resident reported noticing pry marks on the door of his vehicle after it had been parked in the driveway overnight.  The marks were observed, but, no entry was gained.

9:13 AM Sgt. Stephen DePoe took a report of fraud from a Midwood Avenue resident.  The resident reported someone used his personal information to obtain a credit account.   

9:13 AM A Grove Avenue resident responded to headquarters and reported receiving several suspicious phone calls.  Officer Joseph Ballantyne took the report.
