The following reports were provided by the Verona Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

07/29/2011

8:17 AM Officer Joel Martin responded to a Martin Road residence and took a report of a possible illegal entry into a motor vehicle.  Nothing appeared to be missing.

9:30 PM Officer Timothy Banta responded to a Bloomfield Avenue location and took a report of a verbal dispute.

9:35 PM Officer Page Parsels responded to a Grove Avenue parking lot and took a report of a simple assault. 

08/01/2011

1:16 PM Officer William Frazee took a report of a lost license plate from a Meadow Lane resident.

11:30 PM Sergeant Michael Traettino responded to a Park Avenue residence and took a report of malicious mischief. The resident reported hearing a possible gun shot and observed her sliding glass door to be cracked.  The officer observed a small hole in the glass and found a BB on the ground outside.

08/02/2011

6:57 AM Sgt. Stephen DePoe and the Verona Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Verona Community Center.  Upon arrival a smoke condition was observed and appeared to be coming from the elevator area.  The power to the elevator was shut off and the smoke ejected from the building.  The Building and Grounds Superintendent was on the scene and advised there was an apparent hydraulic line leak which dripped on to the motor of the elevator causing the smoke.

11:52 AM Officer William Frazee took a report of a larceny from a Laurel Court resident.  The resident reported a theft of jewelry from his home sometime over the past several weeks.

5:56 PM Sgt. Paul Watkins took a report of a verbal dispute from a Morningside Road resident.

08/03/2011

4:53 PM Officer Paul Watkins impounded a motor vehicle after he conducted a random computer check on the car which he observed traveling on Mt. Prospect Avenue.  The vehicle was found to have an expired registration and the owner failed to exhibit insurance.  Three summonses were issued.

08/04/2011

12:10 PM Sgt. Daniel Greco took a report of harassment from a Grove Avenue resident.

2:51 PM Officer Davie Wardrope responded to a Claremont Avenue store and took a report of disorderly conduct.  Several juveniles were advised not to return to the store.

5:42 PM Officer Page Parsels responded to a Fairway Avenue residence and took a report of a gas leak due to a damaged pipe.
